This meetup event replaces the one we were arranging for Turkey Creek with MelBORING No More meetup group. Since people who have not paddled before are coming, we organizers have decided that the creek is too difficult for beginner paddlers. So, we're setting it up for the Indian River Lagoon.

Those with extra kayaks or empty seats please indicate such in your RSVP. If you need a seat, also indicate in your RSVP. Keep in mind that, as it turns out, we may have only a few available seats/kayaks. If we don't have sufficient seats for everyone, we may shuttle people out to the spoil island a few at a time in the kayaks available. It is only a short distance from shore to the island. If you want to rent a kayak, Kayaks Etc will have kayaks available on site for half day rentals with free delivery to Riverview Park and pickup at Capt. Hirams. It is $25 for a single seat and $40 for tandem half a day rental. THIS IS $10 OFF REGULAR PRICE! Thanks to Kayaks Etc.

Lets meet at Riverview Park....1/2 mile south of Captain Hirams on US1 where we will put in for a relaxing half day of paddling and then fun at the restaurant. We will paddle out to the spoil islands.....play some games..blind folded games, tug of war...and relax on the beach...those with extra energy, feel free to explore the surounding islands by kayak or get some kayaking lessons from more experienced yakers. Then we will all paddle over to Captain Hirams for an afternoon of socializing....drinks, good eats, good music...

We will leave some cars at the park and other cars at Capt. Hirams to allow flexibility in coming and going.
